Robotic Claw by Kepler in action

As part of our introduction to Arduino course, we build the knob example from the servo library. The setup is as follows:

For yesterday’s course, we had some fun and printed the Robotic Claw by Kepler from thingiverse : http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:18339
It consists of the following parts:
Once assembled it looks like this:
Here is a video of it in action:

Parts:
– Arduino UNO
– Small servo – we used this one as part of our kit: http://www.netram.co.za/Electronics/Mechanical/Servo-Small.html
– The claw was printed on a Replicator from Makerbot with black ABS – the bed temperature adjusted to 110 deg C
