Introduction to Arduino – Saturday 16 April

This class will introduce students to the Arduino Single Board Microcontroller – a powerful platform for creating devices that interfaces with the physical world. The Arduino can be used in robotics, art installations, 3D printers, and other do-it-yourself electronics projects.

During this class students will:
Build circuits that utilize sensors and output devices that allow the microcontroller to react to its environment.
Learn electronics, programming, and physical computing concepts by building basic projects.

Arduino-Compatible Uno R3
Breadboard – 400 holes (5.5 x 8.5 cm)
USB A-male to B-male
1 x N4078-2C Relay (5V )
9 x 5mm Colour LED’s (Red, Green, Yellow)
1 x NPN transistor (P2N2222A)
1 x Triple Output RGB LED Module
2 x 5mm Micro-switches/Tactile
1 x LDR (Photocell)
1 x 74HC595 Shift Register
1 x Ultrasonic Sensor HC-SR04
1 x Potentiometer/rotary pot – 10K

10 x 220 ohm resistors

1 x 40P Dupont Prototype Cables (Male & Male End)

Prerequisite Software / Hardware:
Bring own laptop / PC
Install newest Arduino 1.6.8
